Joel 2:25-27

‘I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten— the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm— my great army that I sent among you. 26 You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed. 27 Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the Lord your God, and that there is no other; never again will my people be shamed. NIV

1 John 3:1-3
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

Sometimes it beats my imagination that God should love me to the extent that I am called a child of God. But the fact is that if you are born again then you are actually a child of God. It is not because I am holy, pure or good. All my good works are like filthy rags in his presence. While I was still a sinner he made provision for my sins. He still loved me in my filthy condition.

Rom 5:8
8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

The love of God is so amazing that it is illustrated mathematically to be more than 100% if we match all the alphabets with numbers. eg A=1 and Z=26. In this world the best you can get out of anything is 100% or less but when it comes to the love of God it is a different story. Let’s do the calculation.

What do you think? God loves you more than you can think of or imagine. Let him have all your troubles and hold on to him for he cares.
