John 1:12

12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. NIV

John 1:12

12 But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name

You have to know who you are. When you don’t know who you are you are just like a prince who does not know his inheritance.

Having the legal right to be a child of God gives you so many advantages.

1. Spiritual adoption

Rom 8:16-17

16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

1 John 3:10

10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.

Gal 4:7

7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

2. Become an heir with Christ.

Gal 3:29

29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Gal 4:7

7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

Rom 8:17

17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs — heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

3. Become part of Abrahamic seed and heir according to all the promises given to Abraham.

Gen 12:2-3

2 “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Some characteristics of Abraham that will help you enforce your power as a child of God.

1. Obedience

Gen 12:4

4 So Abram left, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran

2. Selflessness

Gen 13:9

9 Is not the whole land before you? Let’s part company. If you go to the left, I’ll go to the right; if you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.”

3. Courageous

Gen 14:14

14 When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan.

4. Benevolent

Gen 14:20

And blessed be God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

5. Incorruptible

Gen 14:23

23 that I will accept nothing belonging to you, not even a thread or the thong of a sandal, so that you will never be able to say, ‘I made Abram rich.

6. Mighty in prayer

Gen 18:23-33

 23 Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? 24 What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? 25 Far be it from you to do such a thing — to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?” 26 The Lord said, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.”27 Then Abraham spoke up again: “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes, 28 what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city because of five people?”

“If I find forty-five there,” he said, “I will not destroy it.”

29 Once again he spoke to him, “What if only forty are found there?”

He said, “For the sake of forty, I will not do it.” 30 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?” He answered, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.” 31 Abraham said, “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?”  He said, “For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it.”

32 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?” He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.”  33 When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home.

7. Great in faith

Heb 11:17-19

17 By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, 18 even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”   19 Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death.

YOU ARE BLESSED AS A SEED OF ABRAHAM. Think about this and exercise your authority with confidence.

The bible says that this man went about naked. Sometimes I ask myself why it had to happen this way. If God wanted Joseph to be a prime minister, why did he have to send him into the pit, slavery, and  prison before lifting him up to the top? Sometimes the ways of God are strange. He allows the devil to have his way and when he comes in he comes with a bang and everybody gets to knows that indeed he is God. That is why he calls himself I am that I am.

When he moves, when he takes action, you have nothing to say but to acknowledge that this is the finger of God. When God moved in Egypt what did the magicians say? We have seen things but as for this one, we haven’t seen anything like it before. It must be the finger of God. May the Lord move in your life such that the people around you will know that yes indeed the hand of God is on your life.

Mark 5:1-5
 They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.   2 When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an evil spirit came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him any more, not even with a chain. 4 For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.

So Jesus moved to land and as soon as he landed this mad man, a man possessed from the cemetery, not from home met him. Jesus knew immediately that this man was being tormented by evil spirits. The presence of Jesus was enough torment for the demons so they began to beg him. Don’t send us out just like that, they said.  I have tried to get the number of the demons that were tormenting the man. The bible says, Jesus commanded them out of the man and they went into two thousand pigs, which means that the demons in this man were about two thousand. That is why nobody could securely bind and help him.  Then I ask myself why were two thousand demons not able to kill the man? They should have been able to kill him and finish the job. They could not kill him because the man had not fulfilled the agenda of God for his life yet.  Friend you will not die, but live to declare the works of the Lord. Until you fulfill your assignment for the Lord, may your life never be cut short.

Two thousand demons harassing, disturbing, disgracing him, left him with nothing. He had lost everything. May be as you read this post you seem to have lost everything. Let me assure you that you haven’t lost it yet. You will recover all just as David did. You will not be destroyed because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. Jesus cast out all these demons.

What is your problem, what is your difficulty? It is no problem because God is able. It is a matter of time. Everyone may have given up on you. Your family may have voted you the most useless person in the family just because may be involved in something which they think you shouldn’t have. They have persuaded you on several occasions without success and therefore are fed up with you. May be you are running wild in life. It is about time you came back to your senses. I want to tell you that there is still hope for you.

As soon as Jesus cast out these demons the man came to his senses.  May you also come to your senses. May the power of God touch your life and bring a change. As soon as the man came to his senses I am inclined to think he used his hands to cover his nakedness, because he was naked. As you come back to your senses and realize your nakedness before God may his glory and righteousness. The people from the town came and everybody was asking what had happened to the man. He was sitting by Jesus in his right mind and listening to him. I believe it was because of this one man, that Jesus had to leave the crowd. Jesus went back into the boat because the people will not allow him into the town. Whiles some were yearning for him others were driving him away.  What are you doing with Jesus? May he permanently be with us. May we never do anything that will send him away from us.

The man wanted to go with Jesus but he asked him to go back to his family, the town folks and tell them what God had done for him. The man went to the Decapolis, which means ten towns. A mad man sitting in the cemetery, chewing dry bones, cutting himself with stones walking about naked is now preaching in ten towns. Why do you think the devil was interested in him? It was because of the LATENT power and ability to preach. He knew that if this man is saved he was going to spread the word all over and his kingdom will be in trouble. That is the same reason the devil is interested in you. If he allows you to fulfill the purpose and agenda of God for your life, his kingdom will suffer greatly.  So he keeps on multiplying your troubles. But you see, if you allow him the demons may not be two thousand, it may be ten thousand. Take a stand today and call upon the name of Jesus.

He is interested in your life because he knows that if he should leave you alone one day you will be a prayer warrior, a preacher, wealthy to give to the work of God etc. and bring many people to Christ. My prayer is that the devil will not have access to your life to destroy what God has deposited in you, if for nothing at all your salvation. It is time to look the devil in the face and tell him that you belong to Christ and not him. May the Lord help and guide you. May he give you what it takes to stand and live the life of Christ so that the devil will not be able to destroy what the Lord has put in you. You will live to fulfil the purpose and agenda of God for your life. You will be what God wants you to be under this sun. AMEN!

English: Jacob Wrestling with the Angel. Česky...

Image via Wikipedia

Num 23:18-24

18 Then he uttered his oracle:

“Arise, Balak, and listen;
hear me, son of Zippor.
19 God is not a man, that he should lie,
nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?
20 I have received a command to bless;
he has blessed, and I cannot change it.

21 “No misfortune is seen in Jacob,
no misery observed in Israel.
The Lord their God is with them;
the shout of the King is among them.
22 God brought them out of Egypt;
they have the strength of a wild ox.
23 There is no sorcery against Jacob,
no divination against Israel.
It will now be said of Jacob
and of Israel, ‘See what God has done!’
24 The people rise like a lioness;
they rouse themselves like a lion
that does not rest till he devours his prey
and drinks the blood of his victims.”

I greet you reader in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I thank God so much that you are alive at this time of the year to read this post. It tells me that in one way or the other God has been good to you this year and I know he has been good to me too. Let me take this opportunity to wish you a belated Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2012 in the name of Jesus.

I believe 2012 is going to be another good year for you because of the scripture from Numbers 23 from verse 19 onwards. Whatever God told you he was going to do in your life and has not happened is about to happen in 2012. God cannot lie and will not change his mind concerning you and I. He does what he says and his promises are forever sure. they are ye and amen. You are blessed and beyond a curse. You cannot be cursed because Christ has paid for the price of any curse pronounced on you. Furthermore a curse without any reasonable reason will not land.

What ever the enemy has planned for you in 2012 will not materialize because the Lord your God is with you. No misery, no misfortune will be found in your camp. No sorcery or divination will prevail against you. Your testimony will be there for all to see. As your days so will your strength be. You will be like a wild ox in strength and like a lioness you will devour your unrepentant enemies. If God is for us who can be against us. Don’t forget that the enemy will try but the Lord will raise a standard against him. Even Jesus he tried but he was defeated in the end.

Isa 8:9-10

9 Raise the war cry, you nations, and be shattered!
Listen, all you distant lands.
Prepare for battle, and be shattered!
Prepare for battle, and be shattered!
10 Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted;
propose your plan, but it will not stand,
for God is with us.

Let the enemies gather wherever they choose, their plans and strategies against you will not stand because the Lord God is with you. Even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death you will fear no evil, because he is with you.

So what is your role in all this? Yours is to have faith in God and walk rightly with him. His grace will see you through.

God bless you and have an anointed new year!

Where do you look for help when you need it?

Have you failed yourself before?

Has your lover failed you before?

What about your best friend who said he or she will always be there for you? What about your children or even parents. As for the government the least talked about the better. You will realize that any entity, be it an institution or an individual has the potential to fail, or is limited in one way or the other. That is why the bible says the arm of flesh will fail us. The only one who cannot fail you is God.

Where is your trust?

Prov 3:5-6

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Lift up you eyes to the God of heaven and earth when you come to the dead-end. He knows the end from the beginning and he can tell you the way to go. He loves you so much and his ears are always inclined to your call.  Be patient and he will answer you at the proper time.
